I recently enjoyed a family getaway at the Youth Hostel & Penzion Bledec with my wife and daughters. Nestled just a stone's throw from the stunning Lake Bled, it offered us a refreshing change from the city life of Newcastle. The girls loved the cozy atmosphere and made friends in the spacious common area, perfect for unwinding after a day of adventure. We ventured out on a family hike, following the owner's suggested trail through the gorge, which kept everyone engaged for a solid three hours-nature's playground at its finest! Our room was clean and well-appointed, with comfortable beds that made for a peaceful night's sleep. Breakfast was hearty enough to fuel our daily escapades, featuring fresh bread and local cheeses that satisfied everyone's taste buds. While the lack of AC on a warm summer night made things a bit steamy, the open window provided enough relief. Bledec proved to be the perfect blend of rustic charm and outdoor adventure for our family. I recommend it to any family seeking an inclusive atmosphere and easy access to nature.
